First Day of School "for some"

I have no idea how today came so fast but 13 weeks of summer flew by and last night we were preparing lunches and looking out our clothes for the first day of school.  Well the boys were anyways. Sweet Ella is hoping to be casted tomorrow and then she can return to school, but as of now she is too breakable.  John and I would enjoy bubble wrapping her from now on but we are not sure how that will work with the heat in Texas and then you have the whole have to go to the bathroom dilemna.   Jack was pretty nervous but I had no tears from any of them so we consider today a success.

I try to Texasize Sophie with a bow each morning but typically it doesn't make it out of the driveway.  The little boys in her nursery at church try to slingshot it against her head, so they always take it off to save her bow and forehead from damage.  She sure is cute though.
Sweet Christopher has been ready for school for days.  He is my only one who wanted to go last week.  This morning he was fully dressed and ready to go before the sun rest of us were awake.
We obviously have a few things to learn this year, such as the spelling of his middle name.  I asked Christopher if he had to do this and he said "yes, but i knew I couldn't spell it so I didn't even try."  Nice... He's there for a good time I guess.

On the road again 2012

We are on the road again for our annual road trip. This time we have our little love Sophie with us. So because 1 more person is in our car we had to stretch our trunk and the only way to do that was go up. We are loving our new Yakima cargo box. It gives us an additional 18 cu. ft and we needed it. Although I have decided that we need a suburban and then we can tow and get a bike rack. Really I just want to that person who when drives by everyone says "look at them, where are they going, and what do they have? Go big or go home and we aren't doing that since its so hot the fruit roll ups melted. The kids love looking through the blog and with our summer vacation here with sophies 1st birthday there will be lots of moments I don't want to forget. So blog I will! We have driven 4 hours and have only had 1 gas/bathroom break with 427 are we there yet? Questions. Ella thinks Louisiana is all swamp land. Is she wrong? Jack is in heaven with all iPod/dsi access all the time. Christopher is unhappy with pretty much everything. A nap should help him since he is usually our best traveller. Sophie is a gem and laughs so hard at the kids and their antics that she can barely breathe.

Daddy Daughter Date Night

I don't know who is the lucky one. Ella has one fantastic dad. He is patient and kind and was really great to take Ella out on the town all fancy tonight and John is pretty lucky to have Ella. She is sweet and kind and loving and smart and beautiful. They are very much alike these two. I am thrilled that Ella gets to learn how a man should treat a women from this guy. He sure knows how to love and be kind and gentle. I hope they have a great time and its the beginning of many special memories.

Sophie

Sophie is 4 months and she is so beautiful and so fun and we are madly in love with her. She is such an easy going baby and is very content which works out well since she is pretty much toted from event to event... She is rolling over both directions and weighs 12lbs and is 24.5 inches long. Happy 4 months sweet girl!

Houston Dynamo

Everyone in this house enjoys going to a sporting event, actually any event. This includes our newest doll baby. We had tickets to see the Houston Dynamo play LA Galaxy and the kids were thrilled and wanted to get decked out in orange. The boys are ready.
Isn't she precious, we are enjoying her so much. She is such a contented baby and smiles all the time.
Here we are really early to the game... We seemed to be the first there and last to leave. We stayed for the fireworks after. The Dynamo won 3-1 and got a spot in the playoffs. The traffic out of the stadium was a zoo and we were stuck with a curb in front of us so after waiting and waiting I say to John "do it, do it and then the kids got in on the chant and sure enough John and the expedition sailed right over and we were off and the kids had such a laugh watching all the other suvs and trucks follow suit.... There was a small toyota and everyone in the car climbed out while the car bounced over and then they all got back in... Its the small things that get us excited!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving... Pretty much everyone who reads this is Canadian so Happy Turkey Day or in our house Happy rotisserie chicken day!!! We are super thankful this year for Sophie who is just the best little baby and the love of our lives. The kids each told me what they were thankful for and Ella was thankful for a house and all the provisions we have and Christopher was thankful for Brown Bear and Mom and Jack was thankful for cookies and the Wii. After school today they decorated pumpkins and made turkeys. We also had delicious pumpkin pie with whip cream that Ella whipped! The kids love to be in the kitchen helping - kind of surprising since I like to be anywhere but there. We missed our beloved John/Daddy today and we are thankful for him. He is the best!
